Dr. Henry Walton Jones, Sr. is Indiana's estranged father, who was distant from his son due to his obsessive study of the Holy Grail and its possible location. Kidnapped by Nazis in 1938, his son rescues him and in the process of racing the Nazis to the Grail's location, they become closer.
Henry Jones died in 1951, bemoaning that Indiana never settled down.
